Xchanges currently houses numerous artists in 9 individual and group studios, a gallery, and a cooperative photography studio and dark room.
Xchanges’ affordable studios are rented on a per square foot basis. Some studios are individual and other are shared. Rent includes hydro, shared facilities and 24 hour 7 day accessibility.
All studio space artists must be willing to become a member of Xchanges and actively participate in the artist-run-centre by attending meetings and sharing the workload of the centre.
Xchanges asks for approximately 4 hours of volunteer time per month. If you want to become a member of Xchanges, click here to learn about membership.
Facilities
Xchanges’ Facilities Include:
- two gender-neutral washrooms
- shared kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and coffee machine
- small wood working area with basic tools
- storage area for life drawing easels and seats
- lights available for photographing artwork
- access to balcony
- 5 reserved spots are available
- secure bike lock area
- secure entrance gate
- accessible by two flights of stairs (no elevator)
- free WiFi access
- landline telephone for local calls
