From the Field: Explorations in Nature Printing and the use of Materials and Form

Join Cindy Wright for this fun and engaging two-day workshop that explores the use of direct and indirect transfer methods to hand print natural materials. Subject material will be natural organic forms as well as molds and casts. This is an exploratory workshop that will also consider the different effects that can be achieved by different papers, pigments and the use of casts vs. molds in imagery.

Materials provided include inks (primarily water soluble or acrylic), graphite, charcoal, conte, etc.  This workshop is designed for hand-printing with easy, inexpensive materials and without a press, allowing for anyone who participates to continue to play in this field of art.

This is an ideal workshop for both new and experienced printmakers.

Cost: $150.00 per person
Material Fee: $20.00 to be paid directly to Cindy

Refunds:

  • If Xchanges cancels a workshop, participants will receive a 100% refund.
  • If an artist cancels 7 days prior to the workshop, they will receive 100% MINUS the processing fees that Square has applied to their purchase.
  • If an artist cancels within 7 days of the workshop, they will receive a refund of 50% of the total amount.

Why is this policy being implemented
a) The use of the Square payment portal, like any system, charges Xchanges a percentage of the amount charged. When participants cancel, Xchanges has already paid that processing fee and as such is now at a loss for that payment.
b) Workshops will often proceed based on the number of participants who signed up for it. When participants cancel with only a few days until the workshop, that does not give us sufficient time to find someone to fill the spot to allow us to recoup that loss. It also allows us to continue to run a workshop with less than the minimum attendance that might be required.
