Georgia Collins’ “Friends and Family” are vibrant represent­ational oil paintings that illustrate interstitial moments within North American Middle Class family gatherings. Focusing on the nuances of facial expression and body language, the artist constructs a surface that suggests depth and realism, but upon closer inspection is simply a series of abstract brushstrokes and colour fields.
