“Every Day Lives of Lesbian Wives“
Queer Island Festival of the Arts, Passages Gallery at Xchanges
June 1 to June 30, 2025
Xchanges is thrilled to partner with Queer Island and so many other galleries in the month of June to present Queer Island Festival of the Arts. We squeezed Peter MacBeth and Darcy Gould into our Passages Gallery to present “Every Day Lives of Lesbian Wives.” Inspired by archival and found artefacts, photos, and writing of and by other lesbians, intersex, and transgender people throughout history, Darcy Gould and Peter MacBeth document moments in their lives as a 21st century stone femmebutch lesbian couple in a series of personal Polaroids, a poem, and a pair of carabiner keychains.
Join us for an opening reception on June 13 at 7:00 p.m. The festival runs from June 1 to June 30th. This exhibition is open during regular gallery hours of Saturday/Sundays from 11:00-4:00 p.m.
