Join Xchanges Gallery and Studios March 28, 29, 30, 2025 as we transform the Gallery into a buzzing Atelier! Pump up your art practice with our three-day lie and portrait drawing and multimedia workshop that focuses on the human form for all levels. See the schedule below.
Friday
Life drawing – morning, 10am-noon – various poses from gestures to long pose
Multimedia – afternoon, 1pm-3pm – take your sketches and drawings and transform them into unique and expressive multimedia works on paper and work with other participants to hone in on the details of hands and feet.
Saturday
Portrait drawing – morning, 10am-noon
Multimedia – afternoon, 1pm-3pm – working with our sketches and drawings as well as exploring the self-portrait in a fun exploration of multimedia techniques and materials.
Sunday
Mono printing morning, 10am-noon – learn the fundamentals of mono printing using all of our creations from the past two days as a basis.
Sharing and refreshments – noon – 2pm
Everyone is welcome to join an Xchanges social in the afternoon on Sunday to enjoy some refreshments and the art by participants!
The workshop was fantastic and I loved the variety of mediums/focuses and the different instructors (who were all fantastic). As a beginner (which was humbling and challenging but an overall good experience) I felt welcomed, helped and supported by the instructors and fellow participants. A wonderful community! Thank you! Materials
Participants will be sent a list of materials prior to the Atelier that includes basic drawing materials like newsprint or cartridge paper, conte and graphite sticks. A small kit of multimedia materials including optional papers, India ink, and watercolours, brushes, pencils, crayons etc. will also be utilized. Participants can bring any materials they would like to use. The leaders will have some materials to borrow and/or purchase.
