Xchanges Gallery and Studios is thrilled to announce that Alex Jensen is our new PIDC Project Multimedia Art and Technology Research and Development Intern! Alex comes to the project with a diverse range of skills, knowledge, and abilities and most important, curiosity, flexibility, a desire to learn and support the team as we navigate these new waters in the project. We couldn’t have asked for a better fit for the project. Plus, Alex has an arts and design background and loves tech, so what could be better?
About Alex
Alex Jensen (he/him) is a queer multimedia artist and designer living and working on the unceded traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples (Victoria) since 2019. Through his practice, Alex explores ideas of self, and aims to create a space for both contemplation and connection; his research engages with the themes of memory, disability, queer identity, and multimedia studies.
Alex holds a BFA in Visual Arts from Thompson Rivers University as well as an Associate Certificate in Graphic Design from BCIT. He has exhibited with the Kamloops Art Gallery, Salmon Arm Arts Centre, Sweetpea Gallery, and the City of Victoria. Alex has worked with arts organizations in Kamloops, Vancouver, and Victoria.
Alex will be working remotely and at Xchanges, so if you see him come say hi–or come talk about films, cars, and architecture!
