Do You Also Dream of Clearcuts?
January 7-23, 2022
Do You Also Dream of Clearcuts is an exploration of personal geography and a material elegy for clear cut landscapes. Through creating vessels made with wild BC clay and fired with logging slash waste, Simone Littledale Escobar engages with the geological forces that shape the landscape and grieves the disturbance of wild places. Simone Littledale Escobar is an emerging multidisciplinary artist whose practice uses naturally-derived mediums to explore ties to place, tradition, superstition, ritual, and personal history. Her experience is strongly shaped by her Colombian/Canadian heritage and her upbringing by the ever-changing waters of the Pacific coast.
