Whispers from the Forest
Opening Reception: January 9, 7-9pm, 2026
Exhibition Run: January 10-25, Sat/Sun 11am-4pm
Whispers from the Forest invites us into the invisible dimensions within the world of trees, where forces flow between them to warn, protect, and nurture. Beneath the surface lies a hidden reality, layered and complex, where science and wonder meet. Whether born of biology or something like a collective spirit, the forest speaks in ways that feel both mysterious and magical.
The works unfold through a slow alchemy of media. Watercolour, pencil, and ink form the first marks, later scanned and woven together digitally in various platforms, including the iPad, then printed as unique pieces with archival materials. Each work is transformed again by hand with glazes, coloured pencils, water-based oils, and acrylic pens. Every layer alters the image while preserving the memory of what came before, creating a seamless interplay of the digital and the traditional.
What emerges are luminous, layered visions. They are intimate responses to the secret life of plants, and to the silent, unseen connections that bind the living world.
