“I shoot because I see; I see because I shoot.” This is how photographer Clara Kusumoto sums up her passion for photography. Night and Day is a solo exhibition of photographic work exploring the extraordinary in the ordinary. “Light, shadow, line, and shape can flash before your eyes without you giving them a second thought.”
“People can go through their lives without really seeing anything. I want to make people see, I want to show them what they see but do not experience, I want to make them see what I see.”
A Winnipeg photographer, graduate from the University of Manitoba and PrairieView School of Photography, Kusumoto blends images of her hometown with those of her adopted home, Victoria.
