Miya Turnbull
August 2 to 26, 2007

Mid-Exhibit Reception: Monday, August 13, 2007 from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Gallery Hours: Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m.
In her first Pacific Canadian solo exhibit, Halifax artist Miya Turnbull uses self-portrait masks to examine cultural identity and self image.
Somewhere In Between is an exhibit of masks, which are reconstructed, three-dimensional, self-portraits, ranging from representational to distorted. Turnbull is using the mask in order to explore personal and cultural identity, by revealing, concealing and manipulating her own image.
