Members of Crossgrain Photographic Society — a darkroom group based in Victoria, BC — call attention to the beauty of traditional hand-developed work, and play on the theme of black and darkness. Their featured images emerge from the black of the wet darkroom.
Held in the month of dark November, this exhibition calls up ideas of light and dark and reminds us that traditional black and white photography is again (if it ever lost its hold) a medium of art worth reckoning with. Black is the new black.
