Xchanges Gallery and Studios is thrilled to announce we have a new intern joining our team, starting full-time on January 29 for three months.
Please welcome, Teresa Sammut our new Web and Public Engagement Intern funded by Canada’s Digital Skills for Youth Program.

Teresa (she/her) is a recent UVic English graduate (BA 2021) and an emerging museum professional. She found her calling in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) sector through a combination of inspiring courses, working at a historic house museum, and conducting research for the Colonial Despatches archive. She recently worked at UVic Legacy Art Galleries, where she had the opportunity to explore working with museum collections, curating and collaborating with artists, and creating interactive programs for visitors and school groups alike.
In the future, she hopes to complete an MA in Archival Studies to become an archivist-curator in a community-oriented museum, and to use her skills to encourage museums along the way to completing the TRC’s Calls to Action and assist in the incredibly hard work of rematriation.ย
She is delighted to join the Xchanges team to learn more about what makes artist-run centres unique.
During the internship, Teresa will work with board members and volunteers on a variety of projects to improve our website, including completing the migration of archived exhibitions from our previous site. She will also be engaged in helping us organize our brand new Google Workspace (free because we are an awesome non-profit charity), as well as building out the artist pages and coordinating a number of other web-related project activities.
