The Filmic Eye
October 6 to 22, 2023
Xchanges Gallery is delighted to announce the opening on October 6, 2023 of Dylan Cram’s solo exhibition, The Filmic Eye.
The Filmic Eye is a series of oil painting depicting the cultural phenomenon of self-narrativization as it pertains to screen identity and the changing face of time.
For Dylan Cram, the artistic practice is an exploration into issues of morality, spirituality, and violence. The inspiration for this subject matter comes from his personal experience dealing with concurrent expressions of violence and beauty. In his work, he aims to create a similar emotional impact by synthesizing socially and politically challenging material into something outside the ordinary.
