Victoria, Inside Out

Ground Zero Printmakers

This exhibition opens on Friday, June 7th, 7:00 PM
Exhibition runs through Sunday, June 30th, 2013
Gallery Hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4 pm

“Victoria, Inside Out” takes a look at the theme of urban landscape through mediums of printmaking, from the plein air sketch to the highly produced studio print.

Ground Zero local and regional artists will present work that explores the urban elements of their individual environments, whether in the Peace Region, the Gulf Islands, the Saanich Peninsula, or downtown Victoria.

“Victoria, Inside Out” will offer the opportunity to experience the hand-pulled print in different ways; framed and matted on the wall, as part of hand crafted albums, and as individual works on paper handled by the viewer.

The inspiration and kernel for this exhibition is the GZPS Visions of Victoria album, produced to mark Victoria’s 150th anniversary and addressing the historic and iconic landmarks of this city. The album can be viewed at the Greater Victoria Public Library and the City Hall archives.
