There’s nothing more magical than watching a black and white image appear from a blank page in the red glow of the darkroom. What’s more amazing is that there are still people who prefer to make black and white photographs in a traditional darkroom. The members of Crossgrain Photographic Society willingly spend countless hours standing on a concrete floor in a fume-filled, foul-smelling, dimly-lit room to create the perfect black and white print. On October 5, 2006 we want to share that passion for black and white with the public and invite you to join us in our celebration.

Crossgrain Photographic Society presents an exhibit and sale of its members’ photographic work at the Xchanges Artist’s Gallery and Studios, opening on Thursday October 5 at 7 p.m. and continuing on Saturdays and Sundays until October 22. There will be small prints, framed works, and art cards for sale. Gallery hours will be 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
