Brian Chandler

Atelier – Life Drawing

Brian has always been active in drawing and painting since childhood, encouraged by parents who both painted.

Art was his first love and one of only 4 subjects he studied during latter years at the Grammar school in Dunstable, Bedfordshire just north of London in the UK. Here he received high level of training in the fundamentals of life drawing, painting and sculpture from an Alumni tutor of the Royal Academy in London.

Water colour became and still is Brian’s passion, and he has given water colour workshops across Canada particularly in the North from the Yukon to northern Ontario, as well as southern BC. He has also taught workshops in the UK, Ireland, Indonesia as well as several Countries in West and Southern Africa.

Many of his watercolours include figurative and animal subjects, a figurative piece is located in the small permanent collection at Xchanges.

For the upcoming Atelier workshops in July at Xchanges, Brian will be sharing the fundamentals of figure drawing: open our ability to draw what we see and not just what we know, backed up with stories and tips and a focus on positive recognition to catch people doing it right!

Please come out and enjoy this opening session at Xchanges and get the week off to a good start with a sense of fun.

  1. Do I understand that the week includes all that is listed? OR do I have to choose ONE session only?
I do want to take advantage of the week’s explorations to get back into art after being away – THANK YOU!
