Daniela Herold

Daniela S. Herold is a German-Canadian painter living and working in Victoria, B.C.

She was first taught how to draw and paint by her grandfather Daniel Siegel, a skilled artist of still-lifes and landscapes in both water colours and oils. These formative years led to a life-long pursuit of drawing and painting. More recently, she has studied with Noah Layne at the Academy for Realistic Art in Victoria.

Daniela uses oil paint as her main means of expression. She prefers to work from life whenever possible, but her studio practice at the ‘XChanges Gallery’ in Victoria also includes the permeable genres mixed media, drawing and photography. Her work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Canada and Germany.
