Connie Morey

Connie Morey is a visual artist and writer living in Victoria, B.C.

Her work includes the genres of sculpture, drawing, painting, and artist’s books that explore the complex relationships humans have with animals from both ecological and post-humanist perspectives.

Connie was born in eastern Canada in 1968. She received her BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Lethbridge in 1995 and an M.Ed. in Art Education from the University of Victoria in 2007. She has exhibited work at local and international venues in Canada, Malaysia, and Thailand and is currently an instructor and PhD student at the University of Victoria. Her doctoral work merges studio-based research with traditional theoretical methods while exploring ecological and post-humanist understandings of imagination.
