“Exploring The Human Form (Pop-Up Exhibition)”Bill Bartlett
Opening: Friday November 23rd, 7:00–9:00 PM The show runs Friday November 23rd through Gallery Hours: Art reflecting the human form through humor, anxiety, fun, shyness, sexuality, life, exposure, fashion, religion, irony, showing off, silliness, religious icons, sex, death, passion, challenges, fantasy, dreams, sarcasm, nudity, love, pride, self-esteem and integrity. It’s up to the viewer to decide. Please come and visit the Gallery on one of the three days, and you are warmly invited to the Reception on Friday evening.
Artist Bios: Bartlett is past-President of the Island Illustrators Society and past-Editor of the Community Arts Council newsletter. Over the past 18 years, he has actively supported drop-in life drawing sessions within the city. He is an Honorary Life Member of both Open Space and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. From 1981–2005, Bartlett was a Postmaster for Canada Post, and then a Senior Retail Trainer for Canada Post for over 7 years. He coordinated several National and International stamp sales functions (including the Vancouver Olympics), and was a two-term member of the Canada Post Stamp Advisory Committee from 2010–2016. He has been an active member of Xchanges for the last 4 years, and is currently the Studio Coordinator. Xchanges short, Pop-Up Exhibits are a new development in the gallery's direction.
